uTorrent disconnects modem and/or router

I have been experiencing a consistent problem while downloading torrents. It seems to have gotten much worse or the last month.

My modem often gets disconnected. In some cases, my wireless router is sometimes knocked out.

I often gets a network cable unconnected message. Many times uTorrent slows when a message appears, but then the download continues.

I have checked my firewall and lowered the number of connections, but it doesn't seem to help.

I also run Linux on my PC and have experienced none of these problems while using KTorrent. I assuming that it's a uTorrent/Windows issue rather than a hardware problem.
