eklatrys Posted March 29, 2010 Report Posted March 29, 2010 "bt.prio_first_last_piece": Enabling this option prioritizes the first and last pieces of each file in a torrent job, increasing the chances that they can be previewed before download completion. µTorrent will prioritize at least the first and last 1 MB of data in a file. It's a good start but my opinion is that it needs improvement. I always get to preview just a few seconds of a movie even with 99% completion of it. I suggest spying the program BitComet which has an excellent "preview download mode" feature: a sample videos is detected and prioritized and, if there isn't one, the torrent always prioritizes the first not-downloaded pieces. You can preview a minute from a video at only 15% download or less. After 30% or more, if you have enough download rate, you don't have to wait to finish downloading to start viewing it.
