The numbers don't match up

I've been downloading a torrent for almost 5 days now. The total size of the file is supposed to be 7.74 GB. At this time, I have downloaded 9.5 GB - at least according to uTorrent. The folder where it says it is downloading it to is only 6.8 MB. What is going on here?

I have searched these forums looking to see if anybody has posted something like this, and have not been able to find anything. I was thinking maybe uTorrent was downloading my stuff to a different location, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I've used Spotlight to search for anything with a name similar to the files I'm downloading and had no luck. I'm really confused, can anybody help shed some light on this question?

If it helps, here is a little info about what version I am using and such:

uTorrent, Mac Version 1.0.0.1 (20277)

Mac OSX Version 10.5.8

On your first screenshot you cut out an important part on the right side. The section called wasted

How big is it and how many hashfails?

As far as the folder appearing smaller, never used the mac version myself, but I don't believe the temp files are counted in get info, Either because they're somewhere else and get moved or they're hidden, Someone else will have to confirm that part.
