Port forwarding, I followed portforward but test fails

Recommended Posts

I followed the guide to make my ip static. I then went into my router and then forwarded this port (port 30000)

When I run the program portforward released to "auto setup static" (which didn't work...) it at least recognized I am on a static ip adress now. (after I did it manually).

The test port websites all are returning that this port is still closed.

Anyone have any ideas? I am on a laptop connecting to a wireless router. Router is wndr3300 or RangeMax Duo Wireless N Router.

Error: I could not see your service on on port (30000)

Reason: Connection timed out

Also the ip adress its testing is my external ip(?) not what I set as my static (?).

Does connection timed out mean a firewall somewhere or just not open?

I also a modem is connected to the router then connected to me wirelessly if that matters. My modem is Westell BellSouthB90-220030-04. Trying to figure out how to get into this but the isp the guide says to put in to access it brings up the router. Guessing the change together? Or do I have to get into this one as well and update it.
