ibizta Posted September 17, 2010 Report Share Posted September 17, 2010 Is the nature of VPN that all data moving across it is encrypted and definitely hidden from my ISPOne of my favorite torrent sites/trackers does not allow VPN's, how can they possibly know? Yes, although with the way DPI works they may still be able to tell it's bittorrent traffic, (although not likely what the torrent is for). Some like to just go all out and block/throttle anything similar to that like unknown encrypted traffic.2. A VPN makes your connection look like it's coming from a different IP, they can tell by comparing IP addresses either against your confirmed one or against a list of known VPN services.
