newbloke
Hi, Firstly I'd like to say well done on a nice little piece of software. I've just recently switched to utorrent and I'm quite impressed. However I have noticed that speeds on utorrent seem to be slighly below what I have achieved previously with other clients. Now I know there is no quick fix for a question such as this, and a lot depends on the individual torrents. However, I wondered if someone could provide an overview on the different utorrent settings and how I could try tweaking these to try and increase speeds. Thanks in advance
Aeon17x
You should limit your upload speed to 80% of your full upload to make way for overhead and normal browsing. This will also boost your download speed a bit since connections have a bit more breathing room.
DaZkrLauwste
What about the Torrent Options in uTorrent, what are optimal settings for the Per-Torrent and Global Settings?
preelude
it seems useless so far... at least to me. no point setting max connections from 50 to 200 because utorrent doesn't seem to be able to connect to peers properly yet, it usually hovers around 50 peers or so, even if you set it to 200 and there are well over 1000 peers in the swarmi did notice that utorrent likes to stay connected to seeds... but the seeds dont always upload to you and its better if it could connect to more peers instead
chaosblade
Id go with 50 peers per torrent. The max active torrentsdownloads depends on your connection. Upload slots should be around 5 for slower uploads (i use it here with an overall 12kB/s connection, capped to 9kB/s)
