Switeck
Make sure your software firewall hasn't marked the new version of uTorrent as "modified, probably virus infected -- (partially?) block internet access for this application!" ...And that you've given uTorrent full access rights in windows. goldenstar
thanks for the reply... (strange the right hand side of the sentances are chopped off (prob a word or two ! )Ive been to the firewall and u torrent is in the allowed section... the windows firewall that itIve got the free avg anti virus but that cant be messing things up can it ?Funny, yesterday was like this... 1 torrent downloading, then around 8 pm suddenly there were about 12 downloadingI thought everything was ok...but now ... a day later Im back to 1 active torrentIt must be somehow connected to me hitting the .. get the new version.... that must somehow have changed my settings ? Switeck
Remove ALL the uTorrent mentions in the windows firewall allowed section and let uTorrent re-add itself.avg anti virus could indeed be partially blocking uTorrent...does it also contain a software firewall of any sort? (usually something along the lines of "internet protection"...)
goldenstar
no I cant see any firewall in avg justanti virus link scanneridentity protectionresident shieldanti spywaree mail scannerlicenseupdate managerits happened again though ... like last night...at 9 pm it sprang to life now there are 10 active(11 20 at night )figure at the top of the window says 21 k being downloaded.Thinking about it, a lot of the torrents on right now are uk tv files.... so maybe... 9 pm is about time a lot of people come on line in uk...... could be that explains itthings are looking ok right now ! Switeck
It's more likely that your ISP or their parent ISP (probably British Telecom) are disrupting/throttling BitTorrent traffic until later at night.
