sudden disk overload...

when i change the download limit from 30kbs to unlimited (0), suddenly status bar state that disk overload.. what actually happen? can anybody explain...does it effect my hard disk?

i using 1mbs download/ 512 kbs download (at best afford) (dynamic ip)..currently using utorrent 1.5 (build 437).

Set your diskio.write_queue_size higher, and possibly diskio.read_cache_size as well. But the first one more likely. :/

you mean -1 --> 2

or -1 --> -2

He means approximately 8x your maximum upload speed for read cache, and 8x your maximum download speed for write queue.

it appears to be some confusion over kbits and kbytes

I believe the FAQ file indicates setting this to 8x speed in kBytes, which would be simply the speed in kbits

therefore, if your DL speed is 1024 kbits/s, then the settings should be 1024

if your DL speed is 1024 kBytes/s [8192 kbits/s] then the setting would be 8x1024 = 8192

the defaults are -1 for each.. What does -1 do? cause utorrent to use some windows default values? obviously can't have a negative size cache/queue.
