mikeloeven
my parrents have been bitching at me latley because when my utorrent gets a healthy torrent with 2 megabytes down amd 250 kBps up (eg my max service cap) their browsers grind to a halt and their internet access really suffers. i tried to implement QoS on my router but because the utorrent port changes every restart all i can do is set http and some important programs to high priority. what i really need is a way to set utorrent to low priority while retaining the saftey of randomized ports. my router is a linksys wireless-n WRT160Nv2 firmware v2.0.02 any help would be apreciated
GTHK
Filtering by port is a bit cat and mouse unless you can filter by source port and set uT's src port range.http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992
mikeloeven
from the sounds of your post i think your suggesting to set utorrent so that it randomizes it's port at each start but is restricted to a range of ports to choose from so i only have to deal with 1-2 thousand rather than 10's of thousands. the post you linked to only has general trouble shooting and i didn;t find any indication as to how to acomplish this. than again i have problems finding information to begin with
