Magnet and torrent links are not working and I get this error in a java pop up box

at java.net.URLClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source)

at com.exe4j.runtime.LauncherEngine.launch(Unknown Source)

It has come about as I uninstalled Vuze and installed utorrent yesterday..

I have also tried uninstalling java and reinstalling it but that had no effect

I have also deleted all temporay java files via the java console.

I can only assume that the links are trying to drag in vuze which is no longer on my system so has anyone got any ideas how to clear this?

Remove all the entries about Vuze on your computer (regedit) and associate magnet URIs with utorrent.exe (in Windows and your web browser).

thats not so easy

the registry is littered with azerous/vuze comments embedded into the shell and it's not clear what a lot of them do as the it's inherently obvious

I am uncomfortable in ripping out huge chuinks of my registry

Anyway reassociate magnet URIs with utorrent.exe should be enough.

hi,

using firefox

went into tools>options>applications

then switched the vuze associations to utorrent and that seems to have sorted the magnet links

I would have thought the installation would do this automatically for you.

anyway, seems resolved so thanks for your time
