lithopsian Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 I noticed today that the ETA on a torrent was being shown wrongly. Probably this isn't the webui as such, because the ETA reported through the API to my Firefox extension was just the same.At low speeds, below about 100kB/s, it seemed to be OK. Then as the speed increased, the ETA also increased until at 900kB/s it was showing over a day even though the torrent is less than 1GB. I know the ETA sometimes lags the reported speed a bit, but it stayed that way for several minutes. Then I lost a good seed and as the speed dropped, the ETA also dropped to about an hour.
Ultima Posted March 12, 2011 Report Posted March 12, 2011 If indeed there's a bug, I doubt it's an API-specific issue. µTorrent seems to pass to WebUI whatever it displays as its ETA in the main UI.
lithopsian Posted March 15, 2011 Author Report Posted March 15, 2011 Probably, although since my Linux uTorrent doesn't have a main UI ...I just meant that the bug is probably not with the Webui calculation of the display string, but with the actual number passed from utserver.
Ultima Posted March 17, 2011 Report Posted March 17, 2011 Yeah, I know you use utserver. I assumed you were reporting a bug for the API because... well, it's posted in the Web API forum. The ETA calculation is relatively sophisticated, and takes many factors into account, including size and average speed, but also other things -- like availability.
