Matahajas
I have un-clicked the option to start uTorrent at system start (Preferences/General), clicked Apply and Ok. The setting has been saved and is in place.I have also checked msconfig (Vista) and uTorrent is not in the list of autostart programs.Still, uTorrent starts itself every time I reboot the machine! It prevents me from accessing the web while waiting and the process is dreadfully slow. My pc is up and running, but I have to wait for 2-5 minutes before all is ok. moogly
Are you sure µT is able to read/write the file settings.dat in the directory %appdata%\utorrent?Because this file saves your settings, so maybe it's not saved after each time you quit µT. Matahajas
How can I check this? The settings themselves are saved, everytime I look they are ok like I left them. And uT is not listed among the autostart progs either... if it's not, how can it autostart on its' own??
moogly
If settings.dat is saved so it's not the source of your issue. Can you test with a fresh setting.dat (make a backup copy of the old one, delete it then start µT and make a test)
