dsforsaken Posted October 16, 2005 Report Share Posted October 16, 2005 does it just constantly keep hitting the harddrive cuz wouldnt that kill ur harddrive faste rand also there should b an option to set a memory cache because i htink sending the temp fiels to the ram and then eventually moving them to ur harddrive would make the downloads much faster as ram is faster than harddrive access... just a concern.... Firon Posted October 16, 2005 Report Share Posted October 16, 2005 dsforsaken: that's what Delayed-IO Operations is. Search the forums, there's more than one thread on it. Nothing has been changed from 1.1.4 to 1.1.5 in relation to file caching, except the option to flush file cache, which simply closes open file handles every 60 seconds. If you're concerned about too much writing to your HD, raise the Write queue value to 2000, but keep delay at 500ms. Options -> Preferences -> Advanced Options.
