Is BTGuard Working For You? (It seems down for me, 15 Oct.2012)

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here is using BTGuard and if it's working for you at the moment?

I've used it for a few months with no problem.

But for the past week or so it will not work at all.

uTorrent keeps saying "Waiting to log in" ... and I've tried reinstalls ... other torrent software ... it's no go.

Thanks!

My BTGuard is working properly again with Proxy changed back from 95.211.81.118 to "proxy.btguard.com".

BTGuard sent me the following email which others may find helpful....

We are sorry to hear you are having problems. Please try manually changing the DNS server with the following instructions for Windows.

DNS settings are specified in the TCP/IP Properties window for the selected network connection.

1. Go the Control Panel.

2. Click Network and Internet, then Network and Sharing Center, and click Change adapter settings.

3. Select the connection you use. For example:

- To change the settings for an Ethernet connection, right-click Local Area Connection, and click Properties.

- To change the settings for a wireless connection, right-click Wireless Network Connection, and click Properties.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

4. Select the Networking tab. Under This connection uses the

following items, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then click Properties.

5. Click Advanced and select the DNS tab. If there are any DNS server

IP addresses listed there, write them down for future reference, and remove them from this window.

6. Click OK.

7. Select Use the following DNS server addresses. If there are any IP

addresses listed in the Preferred DNS server or Alternate DNS server, write them down for future reference.

8. Replace those addresses with the IP addresses of the Google DNS

servers:

- For IPv4: 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.

9. Restart the connection you selected in step 3.

10. Repeat the procedure for additional network connections you want

to change.
