Berhamino
Reposting from here, because it is bug and not yet reported. On version 3.2.3 and older versions, torrent with name TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE..torrent (2 dots at the end) works fine. On version 3.3 torrent with name TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE..torrent shows error.Windows creates on both ways dir without dot (TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE) at the end. Windows automatically removes dot if it exists at the end in folder.Problem is that old version of utorrent understood it and checked folder without dot and new version dont check directory without folder so client looking for dir with dot which is impossible. So this feature was removed or breaked. I think it is bug.
ciaobaby
TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE..torrent (2 dots at the end) works fine. WRONG it has ..torrent at the end of the filename AND EXTENSION.In simple terms in Windows the filename IS the name AND the extensionNot handling leading or trailing dots means name likeTVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE.. (note the lack of the EXTENSION)I think it is bug. NOPE it is a problem with your comprehension of what leading or trailing 'dots' are!Windows will happily allow a name of FILE....................................................................extBUT it will NOT allow a name of .file OR file. We have like 100 000 users with same bug on site. Why you mixing everything up? TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE..torrent loaded to utorrent creates dir TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE. (with dot at the end) Before 3.2.3 version and down client automatically detected, that windows removes dot from folders name, new versions, 3.3 and 3.4 alpha don't and puts out error.Problem is about utorrent checking right folder which it did before, not torrent or filename.P.S.. torrent is made from folder TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE. and inside is file TVSHOW.S03E04.720p.HDTV.x264-EVOLVE.mp4
LeKing
if you are using windows, expect utorrent to behave in conformity with windows syntax : it is inherited from Unix, with a great pack of accomodation. The last release of utorrent is NOT buggy, for your problem ; it's just the syntax of your folder appeared to be buggy ; prior releases of utorrent modified automatically the path, right ; and what else, as George Clooney says, drinking Nespresso ? It's the responsability of user to invoke paths that respect windows syntax. You can relocalize your files in utorrent, and get regular pathnames ; I know, manual fixing is a very tedious job... Berhamino
So I just want confirmation that feature was removed from client or maybe something in development went wrong. I understand that issue is about folder and windows syntax, but I'm right now talking about feature of uTorrent which is broke or got removed. If it works "the wrong way", expect people to take advantage of it. If it worked for years with all the previous versions, there is not a single reason to break (yes, b-r-e-a-k) it and make a thousands of torrents not working anymore and leave the user all by himself. Therefore, new version is "buggy" or limited as it does not have that auto-correction feature the older ones had. Now read again.
