Auto-shutdown bug with big file

toeryn

Recommended Posts

Prerequisites:

Have location set up for new downloads and completed downloads in different folders. (Preferences>Directories)

In my case i have c:\DOWNLOADING\ and c:\DONE\ set as download and completed directory respectively.

Steps

1. Start downloading a big file (couple gig or more)

2. Assign a label to it (not sure if this has any effect)

2. Enabled Auto Shutdown > Shutdown when downloads complete

3. Wait for file to finish and let PC shutdown

Bug

When the PC is switched back on the download is complete and can be found in full in the completed download folder (im my case c:\DONE\".

However when uTorrent reopens it says the file is 0% done as it still looking for the file in the download directory not the completed download directory.

It seems like the location isnt being changed over before the PC shuts down.

What does uTorrent show in the Save As: field on the INFO panel?

It says c:\DOWNLOADING\FileName.ext

If i leave it long enough it will even start to download the file again.

Have you tried any other setting for auto shutdown to see if this exists ONLY for machine shutdown?

Is bt.graceful_shutdown set to true? (in preferences -> Advanced)

what version and build does this behaviour occur? (Help -> About uTorrent)

I haven't noticed it from any other shut down, saying that I user the shutdown machine option most often. Next time I am downloading a large file I will try the shutdown the client option.

bt.graceful_shutdown is set to true

uTorrent version 3.3 (Build 29625) [32-bit]
