skywalka
Hi guys.My old computer died. I'm trying to get my old RSS Downloader settings into my new installation.I copy from my old hard disk "username\appdata\Roaming\utorrent\rss.dat" to the same place on my new PC.Viewing in a text editor, this file seems to contain my RSS data from the old installation. When I start uTorrent there are no RSS feeds or shows to download. When I close uTorrent, rss.dat is renamed to rss.dat.old. And a new rss.dat is created.Any ideas?Thanx for looking.
ciaobaby
Did you save rss.dat after opening it?
skywalka
You mean after opening it in an editor? No. Also, I didn't open it in an editor until trying to find out why it didn't work in uTorrent.
ciaobaby
Did you remove and reset permissions on the file after transferring it? Because Windows will have carried over the permissions from the original so it could be inaccessible to uTorrent.
skywalka
Thanx for the help. The problem was that I thought I was closing uTorrent but the setting Close to Tray was active & Windows was hiding the tray icon.
