brijamelsh
Hello. I have recently put together a HTPC running WIndows 8 and I am trying to migrate my uTorrent settings (including the RSS downloader filters) from my old WIndows 7 machine. I have attempted to replace all of the files in the %appdata%\utorrent directory with the files from the same directory in the old machine, however when i do this uTorrent will not open. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time!
ciaobaby
Read the migration guideAnd are the locations specified in the settings unchanged?
brijamelsh
I am not concerned with migrating the torrents themselves at this point. My primary concern is the RSS Downloader and application settings. The download directories on the Windows 8 machine will be different than the download directories i currently use on the Windows 7 machine. brijamelsh
I am simply trying to copy over the application settings from Windows 7 to Windows 8. Specifically the RSS Downloader filter settings as I have many of these setup at the moment and will be a pain to do it over.
ciaobaby
Then recreate the directory structure as it was on the Windows 7 machine. uTorrent only creates directories when the feeds are initially started. If it already existing in the settings files and the history, it will not recreate them.
brijamelsh
I think their may be a misunderstanding. I am simply trying to copy over the application settings bandwidth, connection, advanced settings) and the RSS Download filters. I'm not sure what the download directories have to do with this.
