Technarch Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 Just wondering.. sometimes I see a torrent with say, 100 peers, and I have experimented with connecting to all of them. Sometimes it's better, sometimes not.
True Posted October 17, 2005 Report Posted October 17, 2005 I generally have bandwidth to burn - down and up - so I connect to as many as possible, to get lucky with a nice, fast peer and to seed to all those slow leechers. For me, it works. For a slower client, there generally isn't any gain if they can get the same speed from a smaller amount of peers. It isn't the amount that makes the speed, it is the speed which varies from peer to peer...connecting to more just gives you a bigger chance of getting faster peers
