Juc1 Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 Hi allI created a torrent (pirates of the caribbean trailer) in uTorrent 3.3.2 from the instructions here http://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Torrent in laptop 1 and I uploaded the torrent file here http://tinyurl.com/qbff368 - the torrent file downloads and opens ok. I can see the torrent in laptop 1 uTorrent saying "seeding" and "availability 100%" but when I download / open the torrent file in laptop 2 uTorrent says no peers, red bar, availability zero. Any ideas please what is wrong?Thank you...
ciaobaby Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 The second laptop cannot connect to the first one.
Juc1 Posted December 10, 2013 Author Report Posted December 10, 2013 I can see there is now upload activity on laptop 1 so someone is downloading the file successfully - so is there maybe some rule that you can't download from a machine with the same IP address?
ciaobaby Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 depends, Are they both using different listen ports? Is local peer discovery on?Does your router allow loopback?
Juc1 Posted December 11, 2013 Author Report Posted December 11, 2013 different listen ports = yeslocal peer discovery on = yesDoes your router allow loopback - not sure - am looking at my router (HUAWEI HG533) in the browser but am not sure where this setting is. I could ask my ISP - so what question should I ask them? Is it that I need to have NAT loopback?Thanks...
ciaobaby Posted December 11, 2013 Report Posted December 11, 2013 NAT and loopback are two different unconnected things, but according to the manual it is a "real" LAN hub and not just a "glorified modem". So provided the two machine can "see" each other on the LAN they should be able to connect with their LAN IPs.
