ciaobaby Posted December 22, 2013 Report Share Posted December 22, 2013 Can you make an automatic continuation of the work in this case?Just buy a new one for deity's sake.Because when it does fail, (and it will), as the 'drop outs' ARE a signal of imminent total failure (and i would be willing to bank on it being a Western Digital 'Caviar' drive that is inside the housing.) you will lose ALL the data on the drive with the only recovery method possible being a "clean room" retrieval.
