Resuming download

Utorrent was closed to install windows update (windows 7).When restarted, the files downloading at the time do not resume and utorrent shows drive name/letter changed automatically.Have tried renaming the same letter as shown in utorrent but still does not work and also tried force re-checl,start etc but does not work.

Any solution as file is large and do not want to start all over again and previous download is instact in the drive name where it was earlier downloading.

The file uTorrent uses to keep track of downloads, resume.dat, seems to have gotten corrupted, which typically happens if uTorrent is not properly shut down before shutting down or restarting Windows. Try right clicking on the torrent, then click Advanced then Set Download Location. Browse to the parent folder of your torrent and select it (ignore the Overwrite warning, answer Yes). Then try to Force Re-Check. Unfortunately if recheck fails you will have to re-download.

Hi

Thanks for the input. The partly downloaded files are intact in the folder it was downloading but when restarted the drive name was automatically changed from E to F.I have tried all what you have suggested and even changing the drive letter to F but it does not pick up from where left. One another file which was also downloading though has resumed and is downloading again.
