rojinsae17 Posted July 27, 2014 Report Posted July 27, 2014 I am having speed problems with uTorrent. Our family uses laptops, and therefore goes wireless. However, even with uTorrent off on my laptop, I still experience slower internet speeds. The other laptops in our house do not.I ran a test, and my internet speed is actually faster when I uninstall uTorrent.I should probably elaborate more, my internet is more stable when I uninstall uTorrent. My internet goes up and down with uTorrent on my laptop, but my internet stays constant when I don't have uTorrent. So are there any fixes to this problem?uTorrent is off and I am still experiencing unstable internet, whereas when I uninstall uTorrent, internet goes back to normal.

rojinsae17 Posted July 28, 2014 Author Report Posted July 28, 2014 I am 100% sure uTorrent is off.I have exited on the bottom right corner.I have killed the program with task manager.I have restarted my computer and went to msconfig to make sure that it doesn't start up with my computer. And I'm talking about how uTorrent makes my laptop's internet slower WHEN ITS OFF.
stormthirst Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 Well if your internet is slow, even when uTorrent is off, logically it's not uTorrent that's causing the slow connection. Chances are then that you have a virus, or your router is crapped out. 1) Run Malwarebytes to clean up your PC: It's a free program which will detect a LOT of virus' as well as other malware and spyware. Use it, clean up your PC and then try again2) See if you can borrow a router from a friend for a short time. Have you restarted your router and modem recently? I had a modem that needed restarting every few days, but my shitty ISP wouldn't do anything about it. I ended up buying a timer switch so the modem would restart every day at 5am when I knew no one would be online. Problem solved!

What you are saying here is strange... Several details before I can help you with this... How many laptops total? Are they all wireless? What kind of laptops do you use? What router do you have? What modem? What is your ISP? Do you have anything with a wired connection? What kind of firewall are you using? What are your firewall settings? What router settings do you have? What other software do you run on the affected laptop? Have you tried utorrent on any other laptop? Have you tried it wired to the router? Without any real information, it's hard to tell exactly what is going on...
