j4ni
Hi folks,I use uTorrent 1.8 and newest WebUI.My problem is.:I cant configure that the user accessing uTorrent through WebUI should have limited rights (he should not be able to change the preferences, like directories and speeds)Is that intended to work that way?MfgJanos
thelittlefire
Set him up as GUEST account? Changing the GUI such that hiding of the elements requires changing the webui.zip files AND the user can still get at the settings they want through the URL. There are no "levels" of WebUI user aside from admin and guest.
j4ni
Thanks for the Answer! So the only way to restrict the WebUI users in changing the preferences is to hack in the WebUI.zip the files?CheersJ4ni
Ultima
Sorta, though anyone who knows how WebUI communicates with the backend can still change it. Or they could always use one of the alternative interfaces that allow them to change preferences.
Firon
Aye. It's security through obscurity at best. The WebUI is only designed for single-user use. Not so you can have utorrent rental services.
