I know that this has been asked before but I know that it changes based on the computer and I have tried things (like resetting to default settings) turning off things in the cache and turning things on in the cache as that seems to be the source of some of the problemsfor others but seems like not for me. Along with this I am getting the disc override error (i think that is what it is called). I have a hijackthis log and a another log from a different program that was recommended in the guide on this site (ProCPXP or somthing like that). Here is the first log from Hijackthis... (NOTE: this is same with the 2.2 stable and 2.2.1 Beta editions of Utorrent)

Upgrading antivirus and firewall solved my 50% CPU problem.

I upgraded Avast! from 4 to 5, and Outpost Firewall Pro from 4 to 7.

Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del (Taskmanager) showed the Task bar icon, with at least 50% CPU, on a new PC with XPsp3.

At 2 MB/s upload, uTorrent often used 20%. Hardware interrupts + Deferred procedure calls also 20%, and the firewall mostly too..

And with the new uTorrent, CPU could easily go up to 80-90%.

Also eMule was running. But stopping uTorrent solved all problems.

Upgrading Avast! from 4 to 5 solved a lot. But even then, CPU could go up at times.

Upgrading Outpost Firewall did it all.

I am permanently looking peacefully now at 15% CPU use, at 2 MB/s upload. Turning uTorrent off results in 4% CPU use.

uTorrent crew, many thanks. Your patience and dedication to this forum are great, in spite of all your warnings to smash our heads in, if we continue to be stupid.. Great product. Great support. And if you ever doubt it, just think: we'll die of something anyway.. might just as well be this.. grinn..
