Sqiggy Posted January 19, 2014 Report Share Posted January 19, 2014 Hi,can someone tell me what's the difference between using an VPN versus a Proxy connection while torrenting is?Reason is: My uTorrent-Client is not able to connect to many trackers (Error message: Connection timed out) using either a SQUID or a SOCKS5 proxy. I've tried all kinds of different settings. It won't work. With the same settings and using a connection through OpenVPN everything works like charm. So I assume that there is a difference between proxy and VPN regarding torrenting.It would be nice if I can connect to the said trackers using a proxy connection because on OPenVPN the speed suffers.Thank you all Sqiggy Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
