Ya, but many people also know about the anti-p2p program Peerfactor and therefore immediatly associate the program Peerfactor with the company Peerfactor, which makes people believe that the company Peerfactor is an anti-p2p comany. It's a bit stupid of Peerfactor to chose the name of the anti-p2p program Retspan made when the parted with Retspan 6 months ago, if they don't wan't people to associate them with anti-p2p.

ludde isn't trying to commit PR suicide. He just made deal to make a .dll for PeerFactor, without thinking what consequence it has when the paranoid and misinformed people heard about it. This whole issue has become a wildfire on a dry grass field, it very hard to put out.

*sign*, µTorrent reputation is allot more damaged then what I first thought. All sites with articles about this (except for digg.com), give negative opinion about µTorrent, saying that ludde and µTorrent are suspicious and should not be trusted. And the majority of the people who comment on them agrees. People on slycks seems to have calmed down now, but other people continue throwing dirt on µTorrent even if they read the same info. I think we need these things to shut people up: 1) More deeper going statement from Peerfactor about what kind of busniess they are doing today. 2) Again a deeper going statement from Peerfactor about that they have parted from Retspan. 3) More deeper going statement from Peerfactor on what kind of deal they made with ludde. 4) A statement from Peerfactor explaining why they choose to take the name 'Peerfactor', if they don't want to be associated with anti-p2p. 5) A full statement from Retspan (if we are lucky). 6) Ludde should ask Peerfactor if they could change the confidential clause so that he is allowed to show a copy of the contract with Peerfactor.

I agree that BSH's icons are a bit flashy. My choice would be to use the current color icons and add a the signs on them. And of course adding the text 'Network: ' before the color icon.

www.peerfactor.fr and www.peerfactor.biz are url for the company peerfactor. www.peerfactor.com seems to be something different, some kind of search site that looks for the word "peer". the only thing they have in common is the 'peerfactor' in the url Hubert Roksor, think things through before making hasty conclusions.

Celtic Ferret, you don't have the fact straight, read the updates slyck story + the comments by ludde on slyck. ludde isn't helping, retspan, in fact, Peerfactor and retspan went seperate ways 6 months ago. Ludde just made a .dll that uses the BT protocol for legal distrobution of data, nothing relating to anti-p2p. If you don't want to read the update on the slyck story, here it is: Update: Please note there is a correction to this article. It was originally reported that PeerFactor is a subsidiary of RetSpan. The two companies parted ways six months ago. PeerFactor deny ever being involved in anti-P2P operations, despite the reports to the contrary.
