  1. The analogy does not apply, because the developer has already stated the reasons why it's better to keep it closed source. Whether you agree with those reasons or not is inconsequential, because the 2 sides of this argument are completely "parallel" and there's just no common ground for a discussion here. All this is, is just futile rhetoric, which hardly has anything to do with the original topic of this thread by the way.
  2. Majik, I see what you're saying, and I see where our understanding differs. What he means by "shut up" is simply to not demand explanations of Ludde, because he is not in a position to make demands because Ludde doesn't owe him anything. He does not mean that he should not express his opinion, like you interpreted it. The part with the "nerds on the internet" is just a more coarse way of saying the same thing ("they get the idea that their opinion matters" = "they get the idea that they can make demands of people [implicitly Ludde], because of their beliefs [implicitly insecurities and paranoia]"). Frankly, this kind of needy and demanding attitude irritates the hell out of me, and I totally understand where ubitsa is coming from.
  3. Majik, what ubitsa "told him to do" was a suggestion (a very sensible one in my opinion), not a command. I'm pretty sure that guy is not his slave.
  4. Thanks for this great client, it is easily the best I've seen so far. I started using 1.2 a few days ago, and I just want to say that I love this kind of programs: elegant, functional, and to the point. Compared to Azureus, it's not just the difference in resource usage, but it loads pretty much instantaneously, and you can actually notice that the window is drawn faster (at least I can, maybe I'm some kind of freak). I could swear that this is written in assembly if I didn't know better.
