Seems like µTorrent will become an adware.
So I recommending creating option to turn off and completely disable these featured torrents space ads, so everybody will be happy.
If not, we will probably see "some" migration to other Bittorrent clients like Tixati (looks perfect  ), qBittorrent, Transmission, Deluge or Vuze(lulz..., just kidding)
or more simply, users will just stop updating µTorrent

not fixed in µTorrent 3.2.1 Beta 1 27718,
1. 'new' bug:torrent downloaded from magnet won't get the "#" (order number) in torrent list,
restarting uTorrent fixes this,
it didn't occur when you won't wait for torrent information and manually start magnet,
it happens only when you wait for torrent information;
this can be fixed by simply adding "#" (order number) to all mangets
2. old bug:
adding magnet and not waiting for downloading torrent information,
next manually start magnet will download torrent,
when torrent will be downloaded, uT will automatically download all files in this torrent
occurring in latest stable µTorrent 3.2.27568
was fixed in µTorrent 3.2.1.27554 Beta 1
regressed in µTorrent 3.2.1.27605 Beta 1
FYI -
"Start torrent" under "Torrent Options" in "Add New Torrent" prompt is disabled
"Don't start the download automatically" under "UI Settings" in "Preferences" is enabled
I'm recommending for magnets:
-user won't wait for torrent information and want to add just only a magnet,
will result in adding only a magnet in stooped state,
when user will start this magnet, it will download torrent and prompt user with "Add New Torrent" window, like in Tixati and bloat Vuze
-user wait for torrent information - works good, nothing to change here,
but we need some more user attention there, so user will wait calmly for torrent info,
coloring and making bigger these animated arrows near "Waiting for Torrent Information" is a good idea, what you think?
-
Plus - "3.2.1.27605 Beta 1' is a phantom release, till we'll see some change-log for it, and as you know, phantom bugs do not count...
it's not phantom, just see first post and look on the bottom of the changelog
I didn't see it too on first glance, because newest info was always on the top
and you can also add in your buglist this bug, it can cause data loss in some cases
https://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=113328
and it's extremely annoying

Just hope development team will be back from vocation with new power to fixing bugs and finally proper magnets handling and support
Because now every time I use magnets with uTorrent I feel like this
-
According to the downloaded file properties, it appears the build is 3.2.1.27554 (uTorrent-beta.exe).
I'm talking about 'this' stable version in download section on website
-
According to update.utorrent.com 3.2 is not released.
implying that pushing new version to the update servers is the only way of releasing software...
3.2 stable was released, because it's available in download section in stable releases,
and simply forum topic and update server wasn't updated yet.
-
µTorrent 3.2 build 27568 was released...
and it want to update to older version...
-
Just read comments there...
-
Why...
Why make so buggy build stable...
Going back to 3.1.3.
-
A next old bug...
Normally by default I save files to D:\ partition. Today I wanted to saved it on E:\ partition, ok works good. But when I wanted save files second time by drop down list, I can't because uT remember wrongly "E:", instead of full "E:\"
@ rafi - you babysit uT for a long time ;p
you should have the community guardian/keeper degree on forum
-
@ rafi - yep, good for me, because works like I wanted in this case
Don't forget they won't fix all bugs in next RC or implant proper magnet handling, but still I see a good progress, small but in a good way. Options can always come later when full support will be implanted
-
OK, devs, thank you for fixing 1 problem with magnets
adding magnet with not waiting for downloading torrent information, and next manually start magnet will download only torrent, it not start downloading all files after it
GOOD JOB GUYS!
But now, when somebody want to wait for torrent information in mangnets will have this problem
1.Waiting for torrent information, everything looks great for now...
2. Torrent information was downloaded. Name isn't changed, which it should!!!
3. Thanks for not automatically downloaded magnets. But torrent files are like this...
4. When I start download, I still see "Metada" in Bandwidth allocation colum...
5. Even after complete download, file still have this matadata name...
6. So odd, after restarting uT, even torrent job name revert to this metadata...
I hope this will be fixed before releasing final stable version...
Using µTorrent 3.2.27547 RC8 on Win7 64bit
magnet FYI

-
@ rafi - I'm 100% sure, I waited about 10min...
restarting uT and max. 5s and I get torrent downloaded
@ AdamK - I don't have this box checked, it's logical

magnet:?xt=urn:btih:NTQFZNURWXIWH2OD4VP5HQ3T65O2NMTQ&tr=http%3A%2F%2Ftracker.0rz.ca&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.openbittorrent.com%3A80&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftracker.publicbt.com%3A80
I know how magnets work, I waited 10min on about 10 added random magnets,
and when I restarted uT, it magically start downloading torrent and next all files in it
-
Yep, I add mangets via Add New Torrent dialog.
I see that after manget download torrent file, the uT will automatically start downloading all files from this torrent.
So odd, now mangets even don't want to download torrent file. Only restarting uT helps... odd
-
It means what is means
Magnets are starting downloading all files automatically after torrent download.
In version 3.1.3 I can select what files I want.
As I said this in post #710 & #718
I'm considering more and more migrating to Tixati or qBittorrent...
-
As for RC5, automatic starting magnets are not fixed, going back to "stable" 3.1.3
-
updating from version 3.1.3 now I see that mangnets are treated differently in 3.2
they starting immediately when torrent file is downloaded
this don't happen before and now we can't select files before downloading
option like "don't start the download automatically" is enabled
when we will have proper magnet file selection like other programs ?
They don't start immediately. You get a dialog that loads up the magnet info (or tries to)' date=' and will eventually show you the files.
Just make sure you have the relevant options enabled so you can see the Add Torrent dialog.[/quote']
I stated clearly that I have option "Don't start the download automatically" enabled in options,
this don't happen in version 3.1.3, so it's a regression bug
Recommended options to fix this:
1. simply link option "Don't start the download automatically" to magnets
-enabled "Don't start the download automatically" = when magnet will download and next load torrent, files won't be downloaded, you can select which files you want to download in Files tab
-disabled "Don't start the download automatically" = when magnet will download and next load torrent, all files will be downloaded without any prompt, info and option to select them
2. just revert this change to how it was in 3.1.3 version
3. implant proper magnet file selection
Other settings FYI

Before releasing stable version can patch from alpha be merged with this version ?
-- 2012-05-02: Version 3.3 alpha (build 27150)- Change: Increase supported torrent (total files) size from 1TB to 17TB.
And how about updating finally Help file, because there are many new Advanced options which are no described there...
-
-
And what about fixing Deleting selected torrents moves highlighting on random torrents ?
Need maybe regression range ? I will try to find it' date=' if it's needed. Because dealing with many torrents is pain in the ass to making sure that all torrents are unhighlighted before next big operation [/quote']
...our highlighting behavior has always been a bit wonky. No plans to fix it just yet.
Regression range will help diagnosing this ?
If yes, I can try to find it,
because I remember that it didn't happens with older builds
bumpin'

If you updating µTorrent by replacing .exe file in Program Files, please don't.
Update it by using installer (with admin privileges) in other folder (ex. on Desktop).
µTorrent contains build-in installer and it checks (in registry/.dat files probably) on each run program version. If it's older, it updates itself. But in your case it can't, because you don't have needed privileges.
-
@ chupakabra - what's your buffer settings ? are they set as default ?
@ vovash - are you install µTorrent on the first run with admin privileges ?

bug #2 not fixed in µTorrent 3.2.1.27941 Beta 3...
but thank you for fixing bug #1
