I'm using utorrent 3.4.8 ver (build 42576).
I wanna ask can i remove or delete torrent file when i have added torrent to client(utorrent)?

I just want to get rid of the .torrent files.
Does it affect of downloading or seeding files?

I'm sorry for my poor grammar, so I'm not good at English.
Thanks for reading.^^

You can remove the .torrent file...

...but you will then see an "Error: Can't open .torrent file: ..." message when uTorrent is exited & restarted (for any reason).

So it's better just to leave them and have uTorrent locate/store them in a dedicated folder out of the way. Set one via Options>Preferences>Directories>Location of .torrents.

Your reply is confusing? Either way removing a torrent client will stop all torrents of the files(s).

  • 2 weeks later...

The torrent file format makes adding or removing files impossible without access to the original files
•Add, update, remove or change trackers.
•Edit creation date, created by and comments.
•Quickly see what is in a torrent before loading it.
•No technical skills needed.
•Fast and easy!
•No programs to install.

editing the list of the torrent file will change the torrent's "infohash" you won't be able to download from peers who only have the old .torrent file.
