Torrents change themselves back to read only then refuse to download

As the title suggest, my torrents are downloading, then periodically stopping when they inexplicably revert to read-only. The only way I've found to fix this is to turn read only off and restart the torrents then wait for them do it all over again... frustrating

Some other program is changing the torrents' files' settings.

I suggest you figure out what is doing that quickly, as it may be a virus/malware.

*groan* well, I plan to reformat this weekend in an effort to solve a great many other software woes so I'll just wait until then

µTorrent does no such thing, so another program is doing it.
