1c3d0g
You are advised to keep bt.slow_connect to "true". The general consensus is that it increases your potential connections to seeds/peers.
creed
And I dont think this can be said enough....It really does matter1. How much load tracker has on it2. How much Peers/Seeds are giving out3. How much you are uploading (I disagree with this one a bit, Ive seen max download with 1k up)4. If you have a stupid amount of peers, see 1.5. Not giving it long enough to build up speed. But another point people seem to skip is1. Try a known fast torrent, torrent site and if you get full speedit really does not matter what you tweak, if its too slow it just is...start another couple of torrents to use some more bandwidth...Works for me... 8)

Klaus_1250
What does diskio.flush_files do?diskio.flush_files trueThis one closes open file handles to fix problems that some people have with Windows managing the system cache badly.I know about filehandles, but I don't get the latter :-| Any specific Windows version or system setup? BlackLion
it flushes the file cache....it helps Windows systems that dont manage the file cache well. basically helps reduce resource ovehead. Windows usually does ok but if for some reason it dosent enable this.
canuckerfan
what's net.low_cpu?
1c3d0g
Sigh. We really, REALLY need a wiki. :| There's a whole thread about these settings. Please search the forums next time. net.low_cpu means that µTorrent will consume as little CPU as possible, at the possible expense of some performance. Turn it off to gain some additional performance at the cost of your CPU time.
