Agent_eNVy Posted October 27, 2006 Report Share Posted October 27, 2006 Hi, I'm a total newb here...I have a linksys wrt54g routerI had an open port that worked just fine, but when the router restarted, this port wasnt open anymore.How do I find an open port????I dont think my internet provider supports static ip. and beacause I'm a newb, I dont want to do anything drastic... DreadWingKnight Posted October 27, 2006 Report Share Posted October 27, 2006 It's not your provider that needs to set the static IP.You need to set the static IP on your computer so that the router can forward to it properly.It doesn't matter if your ISP supports it or not, it's not component that is talking directly to the ISP that needs the static IP.
