resume.dat.old corrupt

I keep getting an error message saying

utorrent.exe - corrupt file

The file or directory \documents and settings\x\application data\utorrent\resume.dat.old is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the chkdsk utility.

I ran the chkdsk utility and it has done nothing really. Any suggestions as to what I can do to fix this? I've tried reinstalling my utorrent and still it comes up with the error.
