FrankWhite
I d/l'd a torrent, and right after it was done d/lin, it stopped uploading, and it hasnt started again. So i have a ratio of 0.012 How can i fix this
Switeck
It's probably due to throttling/blocking by your ISP.Can you turn on FORCED encryption in µTorrent with lazy_bitfield enabled (set to true) in advanced settings...and see if that helps? FrankWhite
that was already set to true
Firon
Either that, or there's like no one to upload to. It's very common on private trackers.
Switeck
Just out of curiosity, does the torrent upload if you use initial seeding?(Because it never reports itself as a regular seed...it just *might* slip by the detection method. ...but it may be slow.) FrankWhite
what do you mean 'use initial seeding'? Sorry, im pretty much a n00b with this. And it says there are 7 peers, i'm just not connected with any. 0(7)
FrankWhite
i found the initial seeding. Its now connected to 2(6) peers, but its not uploading. Once i change it back, it disconnects from the peers.
Switeck
Well, it probably would disconnect from peers if going from initial seed to regular seed...so nothing sinister there.
FrankWhite
any other ideas?
Ultima
How many seeds are in the swarm?
FrankWhite
seeds 49 peers
FrankWhite
its not that torrent either, i tried a more popular one and am not connecting with any of them
Firon
There's not enough peers to upload to. A lot of times, the few peers that are there are acting as "seeds", in that they only downloaded some of the files.
FrankWhite
the other one has 74 peers in swarm...still not enough?
Switeck
That is probably enough peers if there's fewer than 20 seeds.
FrankWhite
so then whats the problem? sometimes it goes to 1 or 2 or 3(74), but the upload just doesnt happen.
Switeck
Something you might want to try is see if BitComet's different encryption scheme works either.Or try a proxy server/virtual private networking setup. Can you ask around to see if anyone else has the same ISP has the same problems?(...that's probably worth a couple searches on the internet I guess.)
