Hi, I'm a new user to the world of torrent files. I've set up Utorrent as per the set up guide. my port forwarding is fine and I have the little green tick at the bottom of the screen to indicate that all is well.my download speeds vary due to the amount of seeds/peers but on average, i am getting download speeds of approx. between 0.5 and 6 Kb/s per torrent that I am downloading. I don't know if this is slow, fast or normal as, like I said I am new to this. can anyone tell me if this is normal, or what sort of download speeds should I expect - cheers =)

It completely depends on your connection's sustainable limits, whether the torrent you're on has "good" seeds+peers, and whether you're using useful and fair settings in µTorrent.

Being on a satellite or wireless ISP probably wouldn't help, but if that were the case you probably wouldn't get the green light. Your ISP may throttle BitTorrent traffic, as they consider it a breach of their terms-of-service/fair-use clauses in contract.
