Leif
Now its nice to see, that µtorrent supports DHT. But why isnt it possible to make such torrents within µtorrent ? is this a planned feature ? I dont want to use azufu*k to make a dht torrent
DomZ
You don't make a "DHT torrent". They are just ordinary torrents, and if the client supports DHT, it announces them on the DHT network. (except privately flagged torrents)
Ultima
Technically, there are DHT torrents. It's just that no one actually creates them. That's how the mainline client implemented DHT. It wasn't a backup tracker, but a totally different type of torrent that doesn't use a tracker at all.
DomZ
Well if you remove a tracker in utorrent, it relys on DHT, but i'm not sure howo ther clients react to a torrent file with no tracker? If they react the same way then all you would have to do is create a torrent without a tracker (UT currently wont let you).
Xilon
I think that would work, on the other hand this might be a better alternative for "DHT torrents"
paritybit
Could always just create a torrent with the announce as "http://ThisIsMyDodgyTrackerlessTorrent.net" and put something in the comment, when the client can't access the tracker it will have DHT peers it can pick up.
