Necro-File
I was toying around with setting the limits for a large Linux distribution I am downloading and I noticed that when I had the upload speed capped at 35kb/s my download speed never went much higher than it (~43kb/s). With the upload speed set to unlimited, my download speed caps out at it's maximum (~1.5mb/s). I don't understand why capping my upload speed would affect my download speed. Firon
Your upload cap should generally be set to 80% of your maximum. Setting it too low makes other peers give you less download on most torrents.
Switeck
Setting your upload too high will cause download speeds to be much lower and typically very bursty. Any other internet communications may suffer as well, or fail entirely.
