wiggly1uk2000
The icon in this version looks wrong in Vista. Whilst beautifully drawn it appears with jagged edges on the Vista start menu, both as a small or large icon. Try pinning it to the start menu to see what I mean. Ultima
That's because the icon is not alpha-blended. Alpha-blending requires that the icon be 32-bit color depth, and would balloon the µTorrent filesize to something like 300KiB/s (or even more). Non-bug. tjobo
Not a bug yes, but still damn ugly.
wiggly1uk2000
That's a shame. I think most Vista users would accept the additional fize size for an icon that looked right along side all the others. Perhaps you could consider compiling an alternative version for Vista users? Ryan Norton
You could also use a custom one. If people want I might be able to string together a custom icon using the official icon with all the icon formats, but it'll be as big as uTorrent itself :).In the meanwhile if anyone wants to make an icon that looks good in 256 colors.... *wink*
Ultima
Using an icon that's 50% of the filesize is ridiculous.
mark84
I have noticed that once the utorrent.exe is renamed (eg from the default utorrent-1.7-rc2.exe to just utorrent.exe) the higher res icon on the desktop (in Vista) then reverts back to a lower res version.Needs fixing. Ultima
Wrong. An executable does not select what icon is shown when viewed under Explorer. Explorer does. If you see a low-res icon, then it's Vista's icon cache being stupid; Vista needs fixing.
