Happablapp
The troubleshooting FAQ suggests this happens when filenames are too long. But I have no trouble clicking on "Start" and resuming my download. But it does happen frequently and is very frustrating. Seems to happen when there are no peers to share with, or even for no apparent reason when there are alot of peers. I'd like uTorrent to keep the download going even if there are no peers available. That way I wouldn't have to keep clicking "Start" every few minutes. Is there a switch to prevent uTorrent from stopping the download, and to keep seeking more peers, even if there are none? DreadWingKnight
The error has nothing to do with not having peers to download from. The error has to do with the files either being too deep in the file structure, moved, or deleted.
Happablapp
Ok. I'm no expert obviously. If there is a problem then why am I able to restart the download? Is there a way to get uTorrent to skip that file, or to keep trying from another source?
DreadWingKnight
The problem is on your computer. Trying from another source won't help you when the problem is at the destination (your computer's hard drive). The next time it happens, right-click and force a re-check before you resume the download and see how that affects things. Happablapp
Ok. It was giving me the error message every few minutes. So now I have cleared by internet browser cookies, history and temporary files as suggested elsewhere, then forced a "Recheck" by uTorrent. Now my download has been going fine for a few hours without so much as a hiccup. Thanks a bunch. If it happens again I'll just repeat the same procedures.
