davulf
I've been having the problem lately where uTorrent itself will not start. The process is listed in task manager, but I can't see the icon in the tray or elsewhere. I can't find any way to access the process although it is running. Trying to start another instance triggers the 'you already have uTorrent running'. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling (i didn't delete the systems data or whatnot because I don't want to lose the torrent files for what I was downloading). This happens even after a fresh restart and I try to run uTorrent. I'm running the most current release. Any ideas? Thanks!

ajones81
Try putting uTorrent in Kaspersky's exception list and uninstall Roxio.
davulf
uTorrent is in the exception list, as when it *does* run, it is connectable. The problem is that the program will not even start. I can't find Roxio in the uninstall list.
Switeck
I've heard this can cause serious problems too!:O23 - Service: ##Id_String1.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762## (Bonjour Service) - Apple Computer, Inc. - C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exeInfo on Bonjour:http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/process/mdnsresponder.exe.html
davulf
Great. It now seems to be starting up. Another problem that I have had recently (although not isolated to uTorrent) is that my laptop can no longer connect to the Vista main computer. I tend to download things using uTorrent on the laptop, and save them in a secondary hard drive on the main computer. The network was working perfectly until Friday evening and it will no longer connect. There has been no network change, no installation of new software, and no setting of different permissions. Any thoughts on why Vista might do this? (Laptop is WinXP Pro). Thanks!
