shabouwcaw Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 Just wondering about the share ratio.. i know its supposed to be greater than one, so that there is always seeders for that torrent. im just wondering if if negatively effects your speeds if its really low? because im DLing a really large file atm, 3.37GB and the share ratio has fallen from around 1.6 to 0.436.. i do plan to seed it when its fully downloaded but i am wondering if the fact its gone so low will slow my connections.
jewelisheaven Posted December 9, 2007 Report Posted December 9, 2007 Total share ratio is a means to help you (and for the queue settings) know how long until you reach your goal. The main deterministic principle for current speeds is when you are unchoked and non-snubbed are you uploading at a reasonable rate (note, IMNSHO anything < 5 KiBps does not count). If you are worried that your download is suffering due to upload rate choking your connection, you can always try lowering the limit by 10% or so to see if that makes a difference.
