jadetiger Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 I've tried everything else I can read or think of but what is a 'Listen Error. You should change the listen port?' It shows a red ! in the taskbar with the above message.I can't port forward due to my download site being my work address and I don't have access to my Router's settings. Is this a problem? I've been downloading for some time and this has only occurred in the last couple of days.Any ideas?
jewelisheaven Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Do you mean listen error in the Logger tab? could you paste the error please. Also, have you tried running any torrent from http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/ ?What I'm thinking is that something else is using the port, but if you haven't changed anything recently, I'll have to start at the beginning.
jadetiger Posted December 12, 2007 Author Report Posted December 12, 2007 The icon is a red circle containing !. When you hove the mouse over it it shows the Listen error popup. I've checked the logger tab and it doesn't appear anywhere. The icon appears in the smae plave the green tick icon would appear if you had a successfully forwarded port.I hope this helps.
jewelisheaven Posted December 12, 2007 Report Posted December 12, 2007 Immediately popping up with that means your port is already in use.Are you using multiple instances of uT from the same folder location? Also under Ctrl-G which port is being used? It should go away if you change it to another port forwarded through your firewalls.
jadetiger Posted December 13, 2007 Author Report Posted December 13, 2007 Ok. Changed port, restarted and it's gone with only the regular orange triangle left.Speed seems t have inproved too. Thanks heaps.
jewelisheaven Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 Sure thing. Might I suggest TCPView from http://www.sysinternals.com if you want to know what ports active programs are using. (NOTE: on a slow processor it is recommended to change the default refresh rate from 1 sec. when using uTorrent as many half-open connections are taxing to display and re-display on a second-by-second basis)Glad I could help
novacio Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 TCPView is GUI equivalent for netstat -a -p tcp -n -b in cmd.exe
jewelisheaven Posted December 13, 2007 Report Posted December 13, 2007 That's right. Some people just prefer a GUI ;P :cool:I still use netstat -an when I was a QaD list, but tcpview does have inter-process information.
