werwin
You can see from the picture that the host is resolving to my PC's name. The actual IP, whithout resolve on, is 222.253.26.176.Look at the highlighted box - that's my PC name, but not me, and not my version of uTorrent (1.6.1).Can someone explain this? funchords
C:\Documents and Settings\robb>nslookup 222.253.26.176...Name: localhostAddress: 222.253.26.176localhost is also the alias to your own computer -- so this DNS entry doesn't make any sense, and it's a very minor bug. I'm not sure why uTorrent is re-translating it, but this should be quite rare.
werwin
The actual IP, without resolve on, is 222.253.26.176.C:\Users\werwin>nslookup 222.253.26.176Server: resolver1.opendns.comAddress: 208.67.222.222Name: localhostAddress: 222.253.26.176---------------------Guess I see the problem...sneaky people
DreadWingKnight
IT's not a bug, it's a reverse-dns lookup issue generated by them.
theTREE
I have been getting this same issue on a few torrents lately, from peers in the same range, the last two being 222.253.108.86 and 222.253.60.4Is there any reason for this user/users to be doing this and is there anything we can do to prevent it (short of blocking the whole IP range)?
