kingaaa
I'm trying to configure my ports for Utorrent, but even though I'm following the guide to the letter, when I do the port test option in Utorrent it tells me that the port is not open. It's not a firewall issue either, I just have windows fire wall and Utorrent is in the exeption list. I'm running AVG anti-virus, but this does'nt have a firewall so I dont imagine that is causing the problem. Anybody lend a hand?CheersKingaaa
DreadWingKnight
What model router?Sometimes "following the guide to the letter" actually causes problems, since some guides ignore requirements from some routers.

Ultima
What modem are you using? Have you set up a static IP for your computer outside of the Netgear's DHCP range?
kingaaa
Its a generic modem from my wireless ISP, Its an Alvarion IDU (?), I did set a static IP adress for the computer, wether or not its outside the DHCP range I could'nt tell you, I just done it according to the steps in the guide on portforwarding.com
Ultima
Wireless connection means you can't forward your port. Wireless service providers generally don't (ever) hand out real WAN IP addresses to users, which means they're in control of the port forwarding.
