jewelisheaven
By the way firewalls should have no impact upon browsing. So does this mean you press Enter and the browser comes up now?
mountain
Nothing comes up. I hit enter. Nothing.
jewelisheaven
But when you left click on the button, it pops up a menu with search engines right? The list of search engines is found under User Interface
mountain
I left click on it, and I have a drop down menu of different search engines. I can pick which one I want, but I hit enter, or click on it, and nothing happens. What I have doesn't look like anthing above. Thanks for your help. jewelisheaven
If you don't have search engines there, that's the problem. You must press Enter with the search box highlighted. Clicking on the button doesn't do anything by itself, so you need to press Enter, and it will launch the default browser according to windows settings. I don't know what else it could be unless you have some sort of program interception going on... Perhaps something with Vista or maybe even DEP? mountain
It was working before, and then it quit working all of a sudden. Thanks for your help though.Having enough memory wouldn't make a different would it?
jewelisheaven
Hmm, yea... it should pop right up. It (while lagging my comp) started up 3 consecutive firefox sessions :/ You're trying this in 1.7.7 right?
mountain
I'm using 1.7.6, and when I try to update it, it says there are no new versions at this time.
kieths
Somewhat related...I'm using uTorrent version 1.7.7. My Windows Vista system DEFAULT browser is MSIE. MSIE remains default for easier system updates, etc. But I prefer the uTorrent search engines blank to direct Torrent searches via the Firefox browser (also installed on my system). Firefox presents less of a security risk IMHO, and blocks malicious scripts used by some search engine sites. Is there a way to change which browser uTorrent connects to, without changing my system's default browser?
Ultima
Nope. MSIE doesn't make anything easier for system updates on Vista... All it does is point you to the Control Panel applet from the Tools menu, which you can simply make a shortcut for anyhow. That's easier/safer/better/whatever than keeping MSIE *shivers* as default.
