larryd
I am a new user as of yesterday. Could anyone tell me what a reasonable timeframe it is to download a 5.85 Gb file? Thank you in advance, have read all setup etc.
jewelisheaven
Simple division. turn Gb->Kb and divide by your speed (Know that once you know your flow rates running multiple torrents simultaneously can potentially slow this down some, so it's up to you whether to follow the queue settings or not. Bandwidth is not guaranteed as it has to come from somewhere, and if peers dropout on you there's nothing to do)
larryd
thanks jewelisheaven. since the download rate doesn't stay the same all day was just wondering if it would be close to 2 or 3 days and if that was normal. Again thanks for the input from a newbie.
jewelisheaven
There's an ETA column in the main torrent view... it tries to stay updated to current conditions. That is to say it updates every gui.update_rate with a sliding history of previous transfer rates.
