Assistence with using utorrent

Hi to all.

I am a new user (I guess you call me newbee?) I just installed utorrent on my pc and I have lots of questions which any one who knows something about utorrent will be able to answer.

1) During the installation I wasnt asked to choose anything except speed issues. Should I do something now? For example where are the downloaded files being stored?

2) When the pc is on and connected to the net, do I need to do something in order for utorrent to work or is it working alwais automatically in the background?

3)what does it mean if I have a red arrow pointing down (instead of blue) next to the item im downloading?
