I have seen many messages regarding utorrent performance as well as lock ups and crashes ect,.. I beleive this will solove many issues and problems as well as speed problems for existing utorrent installations. This is mainly a fix for an existing install or a lock up after an install.

Here we go ¥

1. Remove the utorrent installation

2. Go to your documents and settings directory under the owner of the system ect,.

3. Under applications data delete utorrent directory and info

4. Ur all set, reinstall clean,.

5. Have pHun! < ' )

BTW, remeber Utorrent usses data base info. if it gets corrupt you will have problems also any time you have dl a lot of torents do this wih out reinstalling, this will speed things up, utorrent checks all the info in this directory and it will slow it down especially on loading. And checking ect ect ect

Cheers! ¥

Thank you however... the http://utorrent.com/guide.php and http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=15992 are more in-depth and therefore useful.

In truth, the only thing checked is resume.dat, the settings.dat sets the environment for uT and rss.dat deals with RSS data, and dht.dat stores your DHT information. I also made several posts about backing up http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?pid=287849#p287849
