bangback
Hi,I was wondering if uTorrent will work on server OS'es, such as Windows Server 2003 and 2008. If so, which ones, and are there any such OS'es where uTorrent won't work? There is no mention of this in the user documentation.
Ultima
It works on Windows 95 and up -- the documentation is quite explicit about that.µTorrent's system requirements are very low, especially considering the operations it must perform. Systems running Windows 95 on a 486 processor with 14 MiB of RAM are able to run µTorrent without issue. Naturally, this compatibility spans all the way up to even Microsoft's next-generation operating system, Windows Vista. Every operating system in between, including Windows NT, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows 2003, are supported by µTorrent. It should work fine on Windows 2008 (it's not too different from Vista anyhow), but as far as I know, there hasn't been any official testing from the dev's end. Firon
Been running on 2003 for years. It does work on 2008, though you'll wanna use 1.8, as it needs some workarounds for bugs in 2008 server (just like on Vista).
hermanm
I have been using it on Windows 2003 Server Standard Edition and Web Edition with no issues.
